Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor at WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was a the morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD-TV. While in Charleston O'Dell's stories on the lenient police approach to DUI cases resulted in an State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to states authorities again releasing an even more strict directive on these cases. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years award in the entirety of South Carolina Media. In the years following her stay in Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV as well as an investigative reporter. After that, she joined Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. She also works as an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She's reported on major the events such as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards, as well co-hosting Pre ShowArrivals shows at The Emmys. The host of the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
